A new and exciting addition to Spectacular Journeys. Inspired by my desire to share Europe with my own grandchildren. We are starting small group tours to Europe. Designed specifically for grandchildren and their grandparents. Our Generational Journeys, will welcome grandparents, parents, and grandchildren from different families to share the ultimate small group experience together. Perfect for multi-generational travel—whether it’s grandparents with grandchildren, adult siblings with their kids, or the whole family together—these tours are designed to make exploring the world effortless, memorable, and fun.

Day 1
Welcome to Barcelona!

Private transfer from Airport to our hotel in the heart of Barcelona
Early evening join us for a meet and greet fun Tapas tour.
Get ready for a magical night out in Barcelona that’s fun for adults, tweens, and teens alike! On this private tapas adventure, we will dive into the heart of Spanish culture—snacking, laughing, and exploring like locals. Our friendly guide will lead us through some of the city’s best tapas locations, showing us how to order like a pro and sharing the colorful stories and traditions behind each bite.
It’s a relaxed and tasty walking tour, perfect for the first night of our trip—because once you’ve learned the local secrets of tapas, you’ll be ready to eat your way through the rest of Spain! Expect mouthwatering dishes, lively streets, and plenty of laughs along the way.

Day 2

Family Gaudí Highlights Tour — Discover Barcelona’s Magical Architecture
Get ready for a fun-filled adventure through Barcelona as we explore the colorful and creative world of Antoni Gaudí! Start at the amazing Sagrada Família, a giant church that looks like something out of a storybook, still being built more than 100 years later. Next, wander through Park Güell, where you’ll find playful mosaics, twisting stone pathways, and a dragon made of bright tiles — perfect for family photos! Stroll along Passeig de Gràcia to see Gaudí’s famous houses, like Casa Batlló with its wavy rainbow roof and La Pedrera, which looks like it’s made from ocean waves. With fun stories, eye-popping colors, and cool secrets hidden in the designs, this tour will make everyone — kids and adults alike — see Barcelona through the eyes of a true genius!

Day 3
Monserrat

Today we experience n unforgettable private tour to Montserrat, the dramatic mountain retreat just outside Barcelona—perfectly designed for families with teens! Our adventure begins with a scenic drive through the Catalan countryside before reaching the breathtaking peaks of Montserrat, famous for its jagged rock formations and incredible views.
Explore the Montserrat Monastery, home to the legendary Black Madonna, and learn about the fascinating history and legends that make this site so special. Then, take the funicular ride up the mountain—always a hit —for panoramic vistas that seem to stretch forever. Some may want to engage on an easy hike along the mountain trails, where you’ll spot unique rock formations and maybe even hear the echo of the boys’ choir if they’re performing that day.


Day 4
Free Day and Paella Cooking Class

Enjoy a wonderful free day in Barcelona to explore at your own pace! Stroll along the city’s vibrant streets for some shopping, visit one of its world-class museums, or simply relax by the beach or at your hotel’s pool — the choice is yours.
Later in the afternoon, we’ll come together for an exciting hands-on paella cooking class! Learn to make the authentic Spanish paella, along with other delicious favorites like pan con tomate and sangria, guided by a professional local chef. We’ll start with a visit to the famous La Boquería Market, where you’ll discover how to select the freshest ingredients and hear the fascinating stories behind these classic dishes.
Then, it’s time to cook, laugh, and feast in a beautiful kitchen space — the perfect way to end the day, celebrating Spanish flavors and culture together!

Day 5
Transfer to Costa Brava​​
​This morning we say goodbye to Barcelona and we say hello to the Costa Brava area.

Costa Brava is one of Spain’s most breathtaking coastal regions, stretching along the Mediterranean with crystal-clear waters, dramatic cliffs, and golden beaches. It’s a place where charming seaside towns, meet hidden coves, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Beyond the beaches, the area offers vibrant markets, delicious Catalan cuisine, outdoor adventures, and boat excursions — making it an exciting destination for families and travelers of all ages. With its mix of natural beauty, culture, and laid-back Mediterranean vibes, the Costa Brava is pure Spanish seaside magic.

Day 6
Girona, Pals and Peratallada Magical and Medieval Costa Brava
Girona is a beautiful medieval city in northeastern Spain, known for its charming old town, cobblestone streets, and ancient city walls that offer stunning views. Visitors love exploring the colorful houses that line the Onyar River, the impressive Gothic cathedral, and the well-preserved Jewish Quarter (El Call) — one of the best in Europe. With its mix of history, culture, and great food, Girona feels like stepping back in time while still offering the lively atmosphere of a modern Catalan city.
Pals and Peratallada are both located in the province of Girona. They’re part of the Baix Empordà region of the Costa Brava.
Pals – A beautifully preserved medieval hilltop village overlooking the countryside and sea, known for its cobblestone streets, stone archways, and artisan shops.
Peratallada – Even smaller and more atmospheric, famous for its narrow alleys, ivy-covered stone walls, and cozy cafés tucked into ancient courtyards.

Day 8
Fabulous Free Day
Today is all about relaxation and seaside fun in beautiful Begur, one of the Costa Brava’s most enchanting coastal towns. Spend the morning unwinding by the hotel pool or at one of Begur’s nearby beaches, where turquoise waters and golden sand invite you to swim, sunbathe, or paddleboard. In the afternoon, wander through Begur’s charming old town, filled with boutique shops, local crafts, and stylish beachwear—perfect for picking up a few souvenirs. Stop at a local café or gelateria for a cool treat, then perhaps enjoy a leisurely seaside lunch or tapas dinner overlooking the Mediterranean. It’s a perfect, sun-soaked day to enjoy the laid-back charm and beauty of the Costa Brava.

Day 7
Private Boat Day Costa Brava

Get ready for an exciting day at sea we set off on a private boat adventure along the breathtaking Costa Brava! Our friendly captain will welcome us aboard before cruising past dramatic cliffs, hidden coves, and colorful seaside villages. Everyone will love spotting fish in the clear blue water and jumping in for a swim or snorkeling stop at one of the secret beaches only reachable by boat.
During the day, we can relax on deck, try paddleboarding, or simply enjoy the sunshine and sea breeze. Midday, our captain will anchor in a calm bay where everyone can enjoy a delicious lunch onboard, featuring fresh local dishes, fruit, and snacks — perfect for refueling after a morning of fun.
As we sail back, keep your eyes out for seabirds and maybe even dolphins! This private cruise is the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and family fun, creating special memories of the Costa Brava that everyone will treasure.

Today we pack up all our beautiful memories of our Spectacular Spain Generational Journey. We say goodby to the wonderful new friends we made and get ready for our private transfer to Barcelon airport.
